Olga Reed School emphasizes daily recreational reading through Accelerated Reader. Our school rewards students with incentive prizes each month and students are recognized for their reading achievements at our monthly awards assembly. Our most successful incentive is our “Read for Fun, Read for Fish” program. When students earn 20 Accelerated Reader points, their name is placed on a banner in the school library, and a goldfish is placed in the 150-gallon aquarium. The students may take the fish home at the end of the school year.
